Nvidia is at the center of a graphics issue, this time surrounding the performance issues of Apple's new 17-inch MacBook Pro. Jon Peddie of Jon Peddie Research, which tracks the graphics chip market and does testing on graphics chips, said he hasn't tested the new MacBook Pro yet. However, a GPU problem of this sort would dictate a BIOS change to adjust the fan speed. Or, if it's more serious, the graphics board would need to be replaced.

Nvidia has launched a new graphics chip for laptop computers that it says is its fastest to date. President of Jon Peddie Research, Jon Peddie, says "The performance may have been helped by an improved manufacturing process. The new process may also help the GPU draw less power."

The interview, based on Jon Peddie's World Wide PC Gaming Hardware Report Series suggests that even vendors are hopeful for the higher ends of the PC markets.
