9 a.m. Opening Presentation

Virtualization: Who Is Doing It and Why — Jon Peddie will present an overview of our research on the use of Virtualization among professionals. This conference was inspired by the results of this survey, which found that many people are very interested in learning more about virtualization technologies and putting them to work in their organizations, but they’re not sure what’s possible and how to get started.

9:30-10:30 a.m. The Basics
A detailed overview laying out the various scenarios being used to access Remote Graphics and Virtualization presented by a team of experienced industry advisers.

Presented by Shawn Bass of VMWare, this session will provide a common ground for attendees with clear descriptions of the products and practices available today. Shawn has helped many companies get up and running with remote computing, virtualized graphics, and virtualized applications.

10:45 a.m. How I Implemented Virtualization in Our Organization

Guest speakers from leading companies including Toyota Motorsport GmbH and Boeing will describe their use of virtualization technologies. They’ll describe what works, what doesn’t work, and what they’re still tinkering with. After short presentations, they’ll sit down with moderator Bob O’Donnell to talk about the advantages they’ve been able to realize and the challenges they’ve encountered.


11:45 a.m. Tools and Tips

An industry panel with representatives from Dell, Intel, Teradici, and AMD will join Bob O’Donnell to discuss their approaches to virtualization and they’ll address some of the questions and issues brought up in the morning session by customers already working with the technology

12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Working Lunch

Bring your questions to lunch. Companies offering tools for virtualization and remote graphics will be available to answer specific questions and offer advice. Experts will join us for lunch and sponsors will be setup at table top exhibits for demos.

2:00 p.m. The Future of Virtualization Technology

The present is prologue. It’s clear that we’re in the early stages of taking advantage of virtualization, remote computing, remote processing, and cloud computing. This panel will cover the advances just on the horizon.

3:00 p.m. Calculating an ROI for implementing virtualization

Some have said virtualization is not being implemented to save money, companies are using it to improve their efficiency, and expand their operations. But, time is money isn’t it? Where are the advantages, and where are the traps.
