Lisuan and Moore Threads made headlines after optimized drivers enabled them to outperform Nvidia’s RTX 4060 in select games and benchmarks. However, tech press reporting became inaccurate, particularly regarding manufacturing process nodes. IThome incorrectly reported Lisuan’s 7G106/105 as “6nm” chips, which spread widely online. Lisuan uses TSMC’s 7nm process in chiplet configuration, as TSMC restricts Chinese companies from accessing advanced nodes like N6 for AI applications.
