EdgeCortix AI processor company lined up for IPO

Claims they can ease AI's massive computing energy needs.

Tokyo-based EdgeCortix, co-founded in July 2019 by Sakyasingha Dasgupta, designs artificial intelligence chips aimed at edge computing applications that must meet constraints of size, power use, and cost. The company creates semiconductors for use in satellites, smartphones, portable devices, and robots instead of data center settings. CEO Dasgupta highlights computing capacity, transmission bandwidth, and energy needs as the main hurdles restricting AI adoption across various industries.
