Panther Lake lands on 18A — Intel’s AI PC pitch goes all-in on U.S.-built silicon

Intel details its first 18A client platform and tees up 18A Xeon

Intel has taken the wraps off Panther Lake, the first Core Ultra “series 3” client SoC built on its new 18A node, and previewed Clearwater Forest, an 18A E-core Xeon slated for 1H26. We saw in person 18A ramping at Fab 52 in Chandler, Arizona, with Panther Lake SKUs shipping late this year and broader availability in January. It’s the clearest signal yet that Intel’s process comeback and chiplet packaging strategy are converging on schedule, though yields were not disclosed. The backdrop: a new CEO, Lip-Bu Tan, an expanded Nvidia relationship, and a foundry narrative that still has execution risk.
