The year is drawing to a close, and as it goes out, it takes with it the nasty US election, and hopefully this persistent recession—hopefully. Before I make my useless new year’s resolutions (I vow to stop smoking, gaining weight, buying plaid pants and white shoes, and kicking homeless people and cats), I like to lean back and contemplate the year.
