Nvidia soars after earnings report

Many thought 2011 would be the year that all the time and money that Nvidia invested in R&D would finally pay off, and so far who could argue? A move from $8.88 per share in August to over $25 in a little over 6 months. Nvidia beat expectations with their latest earning announcement which you can read about Here.

The whole of IBM must be beaming this morning as Watson beat out former Jeopardy champions Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter. Watson racked up a two day total of $77,147 to Ken’s $24,000. MIPS is making its charge at the mobile world, Nvidia is finally getting to announce real wins for Tegra, and tablets are everywhere. Happy Valentines Day and Happy first day the Mobile World Congress 2011

LG helped kick off the festivities at the 2011 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona by unveiling a glasses-free 3D phone. The Optimus runs on Android 2.2 and has a 480×800 4.3-inch display and is capable of playing 3D movies thanks to a 5 megapixel dual-lens rear camera. Mom and Pop might not be ready for 3D but its coming none-the-less.

HP has charged into the tablet market with the webOS based TouchPad. The TouchPad has a 9.7-inch XGA capacitive, multitouch screen, 1024×768 resolution display, can multitask has front facing camera for video conferencing and can receive calls.
