The Ryzen 7040 APU stands out as AMD’s first Zen CPU with six cores, a departure from their previous two-, four-, or eight-core offerings. Phoenix 2 combines a dual-core Zen 4 CPU and a quad-core Zen 4c CPU in one chip. The original Phoenix chips used Zen 4 design and RDNA 3 graphics, while Phoenix 2 adopts a hybrid design with both Zen 4 and Zen 4c cores for the CPU and RDNA 3 graphics cores for the integrated GPU.
