Actual TV usage is declining.  As of this moment, there are estimated to be 323 million people in the U.S.  And, according to Nielsen’s National Television Household Universe Estimates, there are ~120 million homes in the U.S. with (at least one) TV. That’s 2.7 people per household. And yet, U.S. Energy Information Administration – EIA, estimates the number of TVs in U.S. homes is declining, and in its most recent Residential Energy Consumption Survey (RECS) shows that an average of 2.3 televisions were used in American homes in 2015, down from an average of 2.6 televisions
