Autodesk’s Open RV now available on GitHub

Part of the company’s continuing efforts in open standards.

Autodesk made a commitment to support open standards, and the company has been backing up its words with action. At Siggraph 2022, the company said it is making its RV media review and playback software open source. Code contributions from RV, along with DNeg’s xStudio and Sony Pictures Imageworks’ ItView, would help shape the Open Review Initiative, a sandbox project from the Academy Software Foundation (ASWF) to build a unified, open-source tool set for playback, review, and approval of motion-picture and related professional media.
