Bentley Systems has announced plans to acquire Seequent, a well-known provider of geospatial tools, geophysical modeling, and geotechnical stability mining based in Christchurch, New Zealand. The company’s clients are heavily represented in the mining industry, and in civil engineering. Bentley will pay $1.05 billion and plans to run the company as a stand-alone subsidiary, keeping the company intact as the CEO Shaun Maloney cashes out and COO Graham Grant takes over as CEO.
