Fujitsu has confirmed it’s taking its homegrown AI chip global, landing a supply deal with SuperMicro and courting major US cloud providers directly. The base Monaka CPU ships this November without a dedicated NPU, relying entirely on CPU vector extensions for AI work instead. A real NPU arrives with Monaka-X in 2029, alongside Nvidia NVLink Fusion support and a confirmed slot in Japan’s next flagship supercomputer.
