Huawei 950 SuperCluster isn’t so super

Lots of chips, not so much TOPS.

Huawei detailed the Atlas 950 SuperCluster at Connect 2025. Atlas 950 aggregates 500,000 Ascend 950DT NPUs across 64 SuperPoDs, targets Q4 2025 debut and 2026 availability, and quotes 1 FP4 zettaFLOPS inference and 524 FP8 exaFLOPS training. A 950 supernode supports 8,192 chips; the 960 in 2027 lifts that to 15,488 and over 1 million chips. The footprint shows 16 FP4 exaFLOPS across 160 cabinets versus Nvidia NVL144’s 18 FP4 exaFLOPS in five. Huawei advanced Mate 70 with HarmonyOS Next and Kirin 9020 devices.
