Intel recently released the Intel Open Path Guiding Library (Intel Open PGL), claiming to be the industry’s first open-source library that enables developers to easily integrate state-of-the-art path-guiding methods into their renderers. That may be so, but Path Tracing is pretty much the same thing as Path Guiding in that both offer a shortcut to ray tracing by finding the most likely path for a ray of light.
