Is this the year of the MR headsets?

Don’t place your bets on AR/VR/XR quite yet, as that goal is far from reality, especially as players like Sony, Apple, Microsoft, HP, Meta, and HTC face bumps in the road.

Meta has announced its largest-ever layoff and plans to increase spending on its Reality Labs and introduced the Meta Quest Pro. Microsoft has announced plans for layoffs and has shut down its AltspaceVR group but is turning towards Mesh for social networking in VR. The US Congress has denied a big deal for Microsoft’s military-grade HoloLens headset. Despite all these changes, investors seem to be pleased with the idea of efficiency, as seen in the support for Mark Zuckerberg’s “year of efficiency.” Is Sony continuing with its plan for an updated VR headset or is it not?
