Lisa Su keynote at CES, GPUs and games

The second half of Lisa Su’s CES keynote moved us onto what should be safer ground for AMD: their GPUs have had their ups and downs of course, but have always given Nvidia tough competition, to the point where it has never been possible to see them as an also-ran. That being said, the big reveal at this event was the first public announcement of the Radeon VII, a Vega20-based GPU that brings 7-nm technology to AMD gamers for the first time but has no new features and projected gaming performance that only just brings it up to the level
