Microsoft Office 365 Phones – A competitor to normal PSTN phones?

Microsoft recently introduced their new Microsoft 365 Phone System, also called the Office 365 Phone System, under the 365 Business Voice License. It is a telephony product that works with Microsoft Teams, Skype for Business, and Microsoft verified hardware devices. The “phone” comes with PBX capabilities and call controls on cloud and is not available as a standalone product but as an addition with Microsoft 365 or (Office 365 plans). Microsoft offers three tiers of service: E1, E3, and E5 for enterprise. Lower E1 and E3 options [KM1] support cloud-based voice but they are not really a part of business telephony
