Microsoft puts MRKT3 up for adoption

It takes a village to raise a standard.

Microsoft has shared key updates about the future of Mixed Reality Toolkit 3 (MRTK3) on its blog. Originally intended to benefit beyond HoloLens 2, MRTK3 is now an independent entity on GitHub, encouraging third-party collaboration. Microsoft has committed to its investment, forming a steering committee with Magic Leap and Qualcomm. This enriches AR experiences with cross-platform immersion using MRTK. General availability for MRTK3 is scheduled for September 2023. Microsoft appreciates community collaboration, expecting further growth via expanded steering committee and open-source features.
