New opportunities for smartphones In late March, the U.S. and U.K imposed a ban on bringing electronic devices larger than a smartphone in to the cabin on flights from certain countries in the Middle East and North Africa, as well as Turkey. And in late April, the Trump administration said it is considering barring passengers flying to the U.S. from U.K. airports from taking laptops into the cabins.
