Nvidia may now sell to China

China may not let Nvidia in.

The US approved Nvidia’s H200 AI chip sales to China if domestic supply is sufficient, reversing earlier restrictions. President Trump supports sales to “approved customers” but requires a 25% fee. China, however, is limiting H200 purchases to “special circumstances,” prioritizing local chipmakers. Nvidia is caught between US controls and China’s protectionism. Chinese firms want the chips but must balance loyalty, while Nvidia must price them to offset mandated US  payments.
