Panther Lake’s Xe3: Intel’s biggest iGPU yet

Intel’s Xe3 iGPU: new, bigger, maybe faster.

David Harold
Xe3 iGPU

Intel’s new integrated GPU for Panther Lake is a scaled-up Xe3 design with up to 12 Xe-cores, 96 XMX engines, and 16MB L2. The render slice grew from four to six Xe-cores, improving density and throughput, while microarchitectural changes (variable register allocation, dynamic ray management, new URB, and 2× AF/stencil rates) target stalls and bandwidth waste. Intel claims >50% graphics uplift versus. Lunar Lake and >40% perf/W versus Arrow Lake H, with the software stack adding DirectX Cooperative Vector to bring matrix ops into shaders. Xe3 summary.
