Qualcomm updates their XR platform

At AWE this week, Qualcomm introduced its new Qualcomm Snapdragon XR Smart Viewer reference design that, the company says, will make it easier for hardware companies to create lightweight augmented reality glasses. XR1 is Qualcomm’s newest generation platform that, the company says, when implemented by its OEMs will bring mainstream users high-quality XR experiences. The XR1 platform also has special optimizations for AR experiences with AI capabilities which will offer better interactivity, power consumption, and thermal efficiency than previous designs.  Qualcomm also announced that Meta, VIVE, Vuzix, and Picoare are already developing on the first dedicated XR1 platform.   Qualcomm
