Apple spent $7.9 billion on R&D in Q1’24, 70% of the total spent by AMD, Intel, Marvell, Nvidia, and Qualcomm combined. Intel spent $4.38 billion. Marvell had the highest R&D-to-sales ratio at 41%, followed by Intel at 43%.
