SiFive refreshes Intelligence series with Gen 2 cores for edge AI

New X100 leads lineup; XM, X200, X300 also get AI-centric upgrades.

SiFive has introduced its second-generation Intelligence family, adding the new X160 and X180 cores to a refreshed X280, X390, and XM. The X100 Gen 2 parts target far-edge and deeply embedded AI with dual-issue scalar plus 128-bit vectors and second-gen coprocessor interfaces (SSCI/VCIX) to steer external accelerators. Licensing is open now; first customer silicon is expected in Q2’26.
