Testing the elusive MTT S80

China’s Moore Threads MTT S80 lags behind 1000 series Nvidia add-in boards.

In 2022, the Chinese GPU company Moore Threads announced the MTT S80 add-in board. The AIB represents a milestone for the company because it’s the first board to support PCIe Gen 5, and it’s the first GPU created by the Chinese to offer gaming support up to DirectX 11. Moore Threads sent the new add-in board around to Chinese publications late in 2022 for testing and reviews, but up until now, very few had been seen outside the Middle Kingdom.
