AMD’s 16GB RX 7600 XT is official

Rumors and leaks speculated on this AIB for months.

AMD launched its entry-level AIBs, the 8GB Radeon RX 7600 and the 16GB RX 7600 XT. Positioned between the RX 7700 XT and RX 7600, the XT version enhances performance at the low end. Both AIBs feature 2,048 shading units, 128 texture-mapping units, 64 ROPs, and 32 ray-tracing acceleration cores. Built on TSMC’s 6nm process and based on the Navi 33 architecture, they are DirectX 12 Ultimate-compatible. The RX 7600 XT, priced at $299, is expected to have coolers from AIB partners rather than a reference model.

The RX 7600 XT is positioned between the RX 7700 XT and RX 7600, and helps shore up performance at the low end, which has been filled in by older-generation AIBs.

AMD Radeon RX 7600 AIBs.

The RX 7600s have 2,048 shading units, 128 texture-mapping units, 64 ROPs, and 32 ray-tracing acceleration cores. The GPU base clock is 1,720 MHz and can be boosted up to 2,755 MHz, and memory is run at 2,250 MHz (18 Gbps effective).

The RX 7600s are built on TSMC’s 6nm process and based on the Navi 33 architecture; in its Navi 33 XT variant, the AIB is compatible with DirectX 12 Ultimate. The Navi 33 GPU is an average-sized chip with a die area of 204mm² and 13,300 million transistors.

The Radeon RX 7600s are dual-slot AIBs. The RX 7600 XT draws power from 1× eight-pin power connector, with power draw rated at 175W maximum (165W typical).

Unlike the RX 7600, AMD may not have a reference model for the RX 7600 XT with an AMD-designed cooler. The XT will use coolers made by the AIB partners. That’s not unusual but curious that the RX 7600 did include a reference model. It may have to do with the memory load and layout.

Major AIB OEMs such as Acer, ASRock, Asus, Gigabyte, Sapphire, and XFX will offer the Radeon 7600 AIBs. The expected price is $299.
