Korean chipmakers want exemption to US CHIPS Act.

The intention of the US CHIPS Act is to fuel America’s R&D and production of semiconductors and, as a result, reduce China’s stronghold on the market. The legislation entails billions of dollars in potential assistance, but it also contains restrictions and sanctions on the sale of tech into China. However, a pair of large Korean chip companies, Samsung and SK Hynix, say, “Not so fast!”
