Delay of game

Video game delays are nothing new, but suddenly those, along with cancellations, seem to be happening a lot more lately.

You have been waiting for a particular video game to arrive, only to find out that your wait has been extended. Or worse yet, the game has been canceled. Delays in release dates are hardly a new occurrence, but come on, it’s happening more and more frequently of late, and it’s happening to developers and publishers big and small. And, it’s even affecting highly anticipated titles. Some point to Covid as the culprit, adversely affecting development. Others are blaming the economic downturn.

EA recently canceled two games and delayed another, which is part of a larger trend of games that are being delayed or outright canceled.

Who delayed all these games? Why?
