Microsoft debuted Windows 8 at the D9 Conference in Southern California and also in Taiwan at Computex. It is a new tile-based interface replacing the classic Windows start menu which is better suited to tablets and touch screens. It will have Web-connected and Web-powered apps built using HTML5 and JavaScript, you can see a video of Microsoft Windows Unit President Steven Sinofsky and VP Julie Larson-Green demo’ing the new OS here.
