Review: MSI Claw 8 EX AI+

Intel’s Arc G3 Extreme helps redefine the handheld.

In the world of product development, there’s an often-repeated phrase: Speed, cost, quality: Pick two. Similarly, when it came to the handheld PC gaming market, buyers for the past two years were faced with a choice—theirs being between raw compatibility, battery life, and consistent performance—as no device delivered on all three. Until now.

With the MSI Claw 8 EX AI+, built with Intel’s Arc G3 Extreme, a purpose-built SoC for handhelds, the tide has changed and gamers are no longer forced to compromise.

That isn’t some PR or marketing speak talking. Rather, it’s a conclusion reached by reviewer Mario Vasquez from JPR’s sister site BabelTechReviews after running BTR’s full benchmark suite on the device. The reviewoutlines the handheld’s specifications, comparing it with other handhelds in the market. It also delves into the architecture of the Arc G3 Extreme—including the GPU and CPU. To provide context, Vazquez also dives into his benchmark methodology, and then, finally, provides the results from his testing.

There’s a lot of information to digest in the review, which gives the results solid structure and enables readers to consider the information and weigh the results for themselves. Of course, Vasquez does just that and more, providing his own assessment/conclusion.
