Raja Koduri was the vanguard who left AMD in December and popped up at Intel in January, and he’s lured a few of his old friends to join him.

This month Sr. Director, Global Product Marketing, Chis Hook, left AMD after 20 years of service, and is now at Intel, working with Koduri.

And today it is announced Jim Keller has left Tesla, where he went after leaving AMD in September 2017, and is now SVP of HW platforms working beside Koduri and reporting to Venkata (Murthy) M. Renduchintala group president of the Client and Internet of Things Businesses and Systems Architecture and chief engineering officer at Intel Corporation.

Although this is a clear indication of Intel’s commitment to compete face to face with AMD and Nvidia, it won’t happen overnight, so don’t expect to see any new silicon from Intel for a couple of years.

Nonetheless, this news will inflame the hyper rumor mills of the internet.
