Chaos adds to population explosion

Buys AXYZ and its anima software for integrating realistic 3D people into a visualization.

There’s more chaos in the industry, as AXYZ design, whose 3D/4D animation software for generating realistic people and crowds within architectural visualizations, has joined Chaos, maker of 3D vis tech for the AEC, M&E, product design, and manufacturing industries.

AXYZ’s anima 5 software provides a fast solution for adding people into any visualization. Anima offers more than 2,500 high-fidelity scanned characters that walk, laugh, run, and move realistically through scenes, bringing life to a design. The ability to add digital people has been a top request for creators, especially those in architecture. According to Chaos, many users of its V-Ray and Corona renderers already use anima, and Chaos is in the process of determining how to best integrate it into the company’s existing software to make it even easier and more intuitive to use.

For now, access to anima will remain unchanged for new and existing customers.

AXYZ design’s extensive library of 3D models are highly detailed and can be easily integrated into any project. Their models include a wide range of poses, clothing, and accessories, and are created using advanced modeling techniques to ensure accuracy and realism.

This acquisition continues Chaos’ growing collection of real-time visualization tools, photorealistic renderers, and 3D asset libraries. Recently, Chaos announced Vantage 2 for exploring extremely large, production-quality 3D scenes that are fully ray-traced and provides the ability to make changes in real time. In addition to its V-Ray and Corona renderers, Chaos expanded last year when it merged with Enscape, producer of real-time rendering and VR plug-in, and purchased Cylindo, a 3D furniture product visualization platform for commerce.
